1.1 Information You Provide
- Account & Waitlist Data: Name, email address
- Voice Recordings: Audio recordings of recipes you submit through the Platform's voice capture feature
- Photographs: Images of recipes, handwritten cards, cooking processes, and food you upload
- Recipe Content: Text, ingredients, steps, and personal stories associated with your recipes
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your credit card details

- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps

- Analytics: Anonymous visitor identifiers for traffic analysis
2. How We Use Your Information

3. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party services as necessary to operate the Platform:
- OpenAI: Voice recordings are sent for transcription; photos are sent for recipe extraction. OpenAI's data usage policies apply. We use their API, which does not retain data for training purposes.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare R2: Secure file storage for audio recordings and photographs.
- Render: Application hosting infrastructure.
- Neon: Database hosting for recipe and account data.
4. Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored in the United States
- Database connections are encrypted via SSL/TLS
- Files are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls
- Passwords (when applicable) are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
- We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Waitlist data is retained until you unsubscribe or we complete the waitlist process. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Selah and Salt Home is designed for families and may be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
- Parents or guardians may create family accounts on behalf of their children.
- Parents may review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's data by contacting us.
- If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
